TODDLER: 18 MONTH to 3 YEARS
Toddlers desire independence. They want to be able to do things without assistance. And in actuality, they can do more than expected. To foster this desire, the children are encouraged to do as much as possible for themselves in our classroom. The toddler environment provides them the time and opportunity necessary to accomplish tasks that meet their physical, social, and emotional needs. Our teachers are ready to step in when the child needs help or encouragement. Along with learning practical skills, children are offered activities that form the mathematical mind, assist language development, and practice social etiquette.

CASA
EARLY CHILDHOOD: 3 to 6 YEARS
The CASA classroom is for children ages 3 to 6 years to explore and discover, to collaborate with classmates, and to take ownership of their education. The Montessori Method encourages self-directed learning that promotes self-confidence, independence, and critical thinking. Together the class fosters social-emotional and intellectual growth for all involved.
Unlike adulthood, children at this stage of development possess the ability to easily absorb information and concepts from their surroundings. Children work individually and cooperatively with hands-on materials that engage their curiosity simultaneously promoting their independence, structure, discipline, and concentration.
We support the natural drive for independence by encouraging children to choose activities of interest and concentrate without interruption. All the while, the classroom teachers are able to instruct independent students or small groups based on their independent academic needs while also meeting the needs of the whole group. Together the CASA class becomes a peaceful and productive environment for the developing mind.

Primary School Readiness
Countryside offers the choice for older students to stay enrolled for kindergarten and first grade levels. Students will continue to learn in the Montessori environment with our methods, and the teacher will ensure they meet the necessary standards as outlined in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for optimal transferability to the school of your choice.

Primary School Classes
While we do not currently offer classes beyond a first-grade level, the interest for higher levels is growing. Let us know if this is something you would like for your family!
“A room in which all the children move about usefully, intelligently, and voluntarily, without committing any rough or rude act, would seem to me a classroom very well disciplined indeed.”
—Maria Montessori, The Montessori Method
